How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

01. Accommodation in the itinerary, at the above-mentioned hotels. In case above mentioned hotels, are not able to provide a room due to a reason beyond our control, accommodation in similar hotels will be arranged.
02. According to government regulations, a valid Photo ID has to be carried by every person above the age of 18 staying at the hotel. The identification proofs accepted are Driver’s License, Voters Card, Passport, and Ration Card.
03. In case of vehicle not going to Rohtang Pass by any kind of new guidelines proposed by NGT-National Green Tribunal / Supreme Court, HumSafar Tours will not be responsible in that case.
04. If vehicles will be allowed to go to Rohtang pass the guest will have to bear the expenses on his own if he/she wish to go to Rohtang pass. In Winters Due to Snow fall Khajjiar Sightseeing will Be Subject to Road Conditions and as per Govt Rules & If Possible to reach via Chamba it will be Extra Chargeable on the spot.
05. 15th December to 06th January & 15th April To 15th July High Peak Season Time Rates Increase.
06. Base category rooms will be provided in every package category.
07. Rates are subject to change in case of any changes in airport taxes, hotel rates, rate of exchange (ROE), transport rates.
08. In case of unavailability in the mentioned hotels, alternate accommodation will be arranged in a similar category hotel.
09. Service taxes are added as per government rules in the final price before final payment. Goods & Services Tax (GST).
10. Rates may fluctuate during festive seasons (i.e. Independence Day, Holi, Diwali, New Year etc.)
11. Airline seats and hotel rooms are subject to availability at the time of booking. Room Heater charge will be extra directly payable at the hotel.
12. Hotel room will be given as per hotel’s standard check-in time only, any early check-in or late check-out charges will be borne by customer direct payment basis.
13. The menu of breakfast is standard / fixed and anything ordered extra shall be chargeable as per the regular rates.
14. Token amount is non-refundable. The inclusion of an extra bed with a booking is facilitated with a mattress. AC will not work in Hill Stations.
15. No refund will be made for any unused accommodation, missed meals, transportation segments, sightseeing tours or any other service due to Bad weather, high Snow, ill health, Strike, Road blocks or any other factor beyond our Control. Such unused items are neither refundable nor exchangeable.
16. Room allocation is done by the hotel depending upon availability at the time of check-in in the category of room as specified on your confirmation voucher.
17. In case the rooms are not available in selected hotels, rooms will be provided similarly. In case guests demand higher category rooms, guests will pay the difference amount directly.
